Cook It Forward

Program Overview

Cook It Forward empowers youth to develop practical cooking skills, confidence, and community connections.

In hands on workshops, youth learn to cook, eat well, and build healthy habits that support long term well-being. With guidance from mentors, a nutritionist, and a wellness coach, they build culinary skills, practice mindful eating, and strengthen emotional grounding.

Our program goes beyond recipes, nurturing independence and cultural identity while helping youth care for themselves and others, discover the joy of cooking, and build meaningful connections that support a healthier, more connected future.

Why It Matters

Many youth in foster care enter adulthood without the cooking skills or nutritional knowledge needed for independent living. By teaching these essential skills in a supportive environment, we help youth feel more capable, confident, and prepared for the future.

Youth Outcomes

Youth gain cooking skills, nutrition knowledge, and confidence to prepare healthy meals and support their well-being. They build independence, connection, and readiness for adulthood through a supportive environment designed to strengthen long term success.
